Saving Elephants: LALF & DSWT Partnership

Saving Elephants: LALF & DSWT Partnership

Founded by Dame Dr. Daphne Sheldrick in 1977 in honor of her late husband, The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (DSWT) has been on the front lines of wildlife conservation and preservation for more than 40 years. Most known for their work rescuing and rehabilitating orphaned elephants, the DSWT has today transformed into a multi-faceted conservation organization dedicated to protecting and preserving the wild lives and places of Kenya.

The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust has three rehabilitation locations, 11 de-snaring teams and 1 canine unit, 7 aircraft, and 5 mobile veterinary teams, making them uniquely positioned to offer elephants and threatened wildlife a safe and secure future. Since DSWT has been in operation, more than 200 orphan elephants have been successfully rescued and rehabilitated, with many of them now returned to the wild, and even having wild born babies of their own - 29 as of last count.

Elephants are remarkable creatures with high levels of intellect and the ability to form complex thoughts. They even experience human-like emotions such as joy, anger, grief, happiness, compassion, and love. The thoughtfulness and empathy displayed by elephants captivated us and encouraged us to use their likeness as our logo.

As a vegan company we not only value animal life, but all life, including that of our planet. Elephants are a keystone species, playing a an important role in their natural ecosystems, impacting vegetation, and even increasing the presence of other animals.

We are happy to announce our support of The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and will be donating 25% from every item sold in this limited-edition collection to the organization in support of their elephant conservation efforts.
